She-Wolf

This figure has so many meanings to it. The one thing that really comes to my mind when I look at this is mothers. I feel that this represents the love and protection that a mother gives to her children. The she-wolf looks as though she is protecting her children while providing them with food. It can also represent how many people take advantage of women. the little people below her may not be her children but may be taking advantage of the fact she carries milk or other food. This just as all the other sculptures and paintings means many different things and it is up to the viewer to depict these pieces of art.

Voting Experience

I actually voted a couple weeks ago through the mail in ballots. This is my first year voting and it actually felt really knowing that I am part of the election. There was so much to look at with this election and many propositions I had to read about. My experience was really good and I think that everybody that can vote should vote. If you dont vote than do not complain about the new president. I think that this election is very different from the other elections and I am hoping to see more people in my age group vote for this term. It is an awesome feeling after you are done with your ballot. EVERY VOTE COUNTS!!! Yay for 2008 elections!

blog chapter #4

For chapter 4 I chose the two women with a child sculpture. This sculpture has a few different meanings in my eyes and it definitely relates to life today. The first meaning it has is a family meaning. It can be a mother and grandmother with a child. It just shows how great family is and how much love they can give to one another. Another meaning that it might have is a lesbian partnership. It shows that no matter who we are everybody is able to be successful as long as they have love. There is a lot of hate in this world today just as there was back then but I think overall this sculpture just shows love an compassion towards somebody close. It is something everybody should do especially in the hard times that we are having right now. Love is all we need to get by.

Blog #4- Mummy Wrapping of a Young Boy

I chose the picture called mummy wrapping of a young boy because it relates to modern day in many ways. This picture really stood out to me. I feel as though this young boy does not belong here. He saddens me. There are so many young and Innocent people who die today due to violence. If you look at the young boys face in this picture you see many feelings. I see fear and pain in his eyes. This art piece represents the deceased and there are too many many people dying in modern day due to things they can not control just as there were too many people dying back in the Roman Period. They are gone but never forgotten just as this mummified young boy is gone but never forgotten.

This piece of art is called the Sound Box of the Great Lyre. I chose this picture because it was the first form of a comic strip. Today there are many different comic strips to make people laugh. If you look closely to this piece you too will see that the pictures are all funny. I love comics and i love to laugh. Many of us buy the news paper just for the comics strips so I believe that this is a very important piece to show that it wasn't always serious back then. People back then had a sense of humor too. One laugh can turn a persons day around.

I chose the LION HUMAN picture because there is so much to yet it is so simple.I think that it shows how a lot of us feel. This lion Human seems to be confused about he is. He is made up of two totally different things. Many of us are also confused about who we truly are and we are also made up of many different characteristics. Although the Lion Human seems confused he also seems proud. The way he hold his head up in the air shows that he has a lot of courage. I chose this picture because I too have a lot of courage but I am also confused at times. Sometimes one downside brings a better upside to things. This is a beautiful piece and everybody has their own interpretations about it; that is the best part of art. I believe that we are all beautiful no matter what we are made up of just as this piece depicts.

This is a picture of some music notes taken by Billy Reed. I love musioc. I enjoy all types of music. I think that music is the greatest form of art because it expresses so many different things through words and sound. I listen to different types of music depending on what mood im in.

This picture is called baseball and it was done by Michael Harrison. I chose this picture because baseball is my all time favorite sport. I can't play but I love going to games. My favorite team is the San Francisco Giants. I grew up around basebal. All of my cousins play and my dad has been taking me to games since I was little. Baseball reminds me of good days and it is definetly one of my favorite things.

This is a painting called Fishing in the Spring and it was done by the one and only Vincent Van Gogh. I love this picture. Fishing is one of my favorite things to do. I grew up going fishing with my dad all the time. Now I go by myself or with friends. I love fishing and this painting is so peaceful . I would love to be doing what the man in the picture is doing. I could fish for hours at a time and not get board.

This oil painting is called Tropical Moon and it was done by Larry Wall. I love this painting because it reminds me of my happy place. I have been to a couple tropical places and each time I had the time of my life and did not want to leave. I forget about all my worries when I am at a place like the one above. This painting describes me because it is a very calm picture but the waves are still crashing. I am a very calm person but when something is bugging me I am very stubborn just like the waves. I love to watch the sunset and this picture is beautiful.

This picture is called coffee monster and it was composed by Jeff Coleman. This picture probably describes me better than any other picture would be able to. People who know me know how important my coffee is to me. If i do not have coffee in the morning I can not function. Nobody will talk to me until I have started drinking my coffee. I have a very busy schedule and coffee is what keeps me alive. So this picture is exactly what I look like until I have had my coffee. I am definitely a coffee monster.
